“I am a Bakersfield native. I attended Harding, Compton Jr., and Highland High Schools. My first job was working in the potato sheds on Edison Highway. My father, William F. Casteen, M.D. and sister Carol Casteen, M.D. have been Ophthalmologist here for many years. If I’m not working, I am probably buying an actor friend a meal somewhere in Los Angeles or trying to slow down in Santa Ynez Valley. I have had a very diverse life and became interested in dentistry through a discussion with my Art teacher when studying to become a potter. In the 1990’s I developed a residential care facility for the elderly called Home Again. I developed a theater company in Los Angeles called Tom Cats which produced original plays and the classics. I have a love for animals and feed more stray cats and dogs in Bakersfield than you can imagine. I love flying airplanes and I am proud to be an Eagle Scout.”
“I grew up in southern California, the son of a busy orthodontist. I have been surrounded with a deep respect for the responsibility involved in patient care on a day to day level. Prior to coming to Bakersfield I was a dentist in San Diego. My wife Amy and I chose Bakersfield as the right place to raise our two boys and develop a family dental practice. We have found the people of Bakersfield to be some of the nicest people we’ve ever met.”
“I grew up right here in Bakersfield, attending Col. Nichols Elementary School, Chipman J.H.S. and Highland High School. I was active in sports and music in school and earned the Eagle Scout award in Boy Scouts. Since then I have traveled extensively and have lived in Alaska and in Hawaii before returning back home to Bakersfield. Quality of life and friendships are what matters most to me.”
